We encourage you to bring in photographs of smiles that you like and would like to integrate into your smile design. Using an intra-oral camera, digital x-rays and digital photographs, we will make a model of your dental features that allows us to design your smile in wax before we ever touch your teeth. Once you view your wax-up preview, you can make any changes you would like to your design. Before we move ahead with your smile design and actually begin working on your teeth, we want you to be totally satisfied with the look of your new smile!
Dr. Guion has a unique smile design philosophy, which combines the formats taught at the educational institutions of LVI (Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dentistry) and PAC-Live (Pacific Aesthetic Continuum), to create smiles of superlative beauty, balance and function.
The smile design process often includes gum re-contouring, which gives your new smile the framework of an evenly contoured gum line. We create the properly balanced ratio of tooth surface to gum using a Waterlase MD, which gently and, in most cases, painlessly removes the soft tissue of the gums. This procedure gives us the proper foundation for the creation and placement of cosmetic veneers which can be finished in just a couple of visits.
To minimize any discomfort we both pre and post medicate if necessary. Topical anesthetic is used before delivering any local anesthetic, and nitrous oxide will help alleviate any dental anxiety. Ensuring that each procedure is totally comfortable and anxiety free for our patients is very important to us.
